I suffered with chronic knee pain from age 13 (despite an active lifestyle and then getting into strength training). I was frustrated with the care I received when seeking treatment for the first time at age 22 (a rushed appointment, a sheet of generic exercises and no real assessment or hands on).
As a result of following my interests in strength training and human anatomy, I enrolled for a masters in Sports Therapy to learn how to fix my own pain and help others with theirs. After graduating Teesside University with BSc (hons) Biological Sciences and MSc Sports Rehabilitation I became self-employed in 2019 offering sports massage, musculo-skeletal assessment, and rehabilitation (for injury or ongoing/reoccurring pain). Later in 2022 I then also qualified in Acupuncture which has been an invaluable science-based treatment for many clients’ health, wellbeing, or rehab journey.
I have a genuine care and interest in helping people and take pride in offering the best service to my clients. I believe in honesty, transparency and educating clients to understand their pain and how to manage it holistically as opposed to rushing into medication or surgery.
During my free time I love to be outdoors, in the sun and water. I am a firm believer that health, both mental and physical, are interlinked and multi-factoral. Therefore, it is vital to not only address or blame one aspect but step back and check other factors like sleep, nutrition, stress, hydration, exercise, and work-life balance where possible.
